According to the World Health Organization, the U.S. ranks 37th in the world for overall efficiency in healthcare (health levels, cost and responsiveness). Some would have a hard time even naming 36 other countries.
This Time Health article has a link to another survey that was done comparing just 11 countries (The developed world) and we were dead last (no pun intended). Yet we spend more than anyone else in the world.
If you ran a race and you were either last or very low on the list, wouldn’t you change something? Especially if it cost you more than anyone else to run? We throw billions at research and all of our different “funds” – the issue isn’t a lack of money.
